Rayland-Terrapointe contracted LG2 Environmental Solutions, Inc. to conduct comprehensive jurisdictional wetland mapping of an 8000-acre tract and a 15,000-acre tract in northern Flagler County around the community of Espanola, north along Old Brick Road to the St. Johns County boarder.  The assessment included aerial photograph interpretation of various years (false color infrared as well as recent real color) along with other remote data utilization such as soils maps and NWI maps as a basis for ground-truthing.  The ground-truthing effort resulting in nearly 50% on-the-ground analysis and confirmation of in-house interpretations. 

This effort was aided by the use of four-wheel drive ATVs for the most efficient site coverage.  The assessment was also aided by use of Arc View GIS databases for development of shape files for import into Rayland’s existing land database. 

Total LG2ES project cost-approximately $60,000.
